On Friday, November 11, 2023, the UNC Greensboro Women Veterans Historical Project (WVHP) will host its annual luncheon featuring keynote speaker Ingrid Ruffin, U.S. Air Force veteran and UNCG alumna, discussing “The Creative Power of War & Conflict”. The event will be held at the UNCG Alumni House. Doors open at 11:30 and the program and luncheon will be from noon-2pm.
Each year WVHP hosts a luncheon that features a program that highlights women’s service in the U.S. military as well as an exhibit of military uniforms and other items in the WVHP collections. The purpose of the luncheon is threefold: to honor the service of women who served in the United States armed forces and the American Red Cross; to serve as an educational forum about women veterans; to engage the veteran community at UNCG and Greensboro; and to highlight the work of the WVHP and its ongoing oral history project.
