The Flick! Experimental Film Festival is s a platform for filmmakers and artists experimenting with film processes and narratives. We understand experimental, innovative and creative films as pieces that offer uncanny points of view and methods of filmmaking, and works involving risk-taking problem-solving in telling a story through images in movement.
2021 is the first year the Flick! will be themed: Rituals, Sanctuaries and Liturgies.
During this last pandemic year, many of us have turned to ways of making sense of the world around us and within us. New for some, traditional for others, what role have rituals and liturgies played in our lives during this last year? And years previous to 2020? And here and now?
Rituals of life, death and procreation. Rituals of everyday life. Rituals of passage. How does experimental film discourse engage with rituals, sanctuaries and liturgies?
