Jackson Library has many employees that help keep our services running smoothly both virtually and in person. While many of the employees are recognized as professional library staff or administrators, our work would be much more difficult without the amazing support we receive from our housekeeping staff.
As some of the very first employees back into the library when we returned to work in June 2020 our housekeepers have gone above and beyond to put an emphasis on safety and cleanliness for the faculty, staff, students, and community members who use our building daily. Their investment in the library is so valuable, coming in at 5 am every day to fix many issues that go unnoticed because of their ability to present the library in the best way possible. In addition during the planning to do risk mitigation to create a socially distant space, the housekeeping staff played a huge part in moving furniture and working with the library staff to determine what would be most effective in terms of sanitation and day-to-day management.
The housekeepers too have had to manage with changes and being short-handed at times and that never has been an issue and their support has never stopped over the past year. We would like to thank them for their continued work and dedication to our library. If you see a housekeeper while visiting feel free to thank them for keeping our services alive and well in a safe environment.
