UNC Greensboro’s University Libraries is pleased to welcome new Search and Weekend Manager Christopher Hopkins to Jackson Library. Hopkins previously worked as a library assistant at Orange County Public Library in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree from UNCG in 2012 before earning a master of fine arts in creative writing with a concentration in poetry from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. Prior to working in public libraries, Hopkins was employed as a circulation supervisor in Williams Library at Life University in Marietta, Georgia.
Hopkins’s enthusiasm and expertise have been a huge benefit to University Libraries since he began working at UNCG earlier this month. “The whole department has enjoyed working with him,” said Ann Perdue in the Access Services Department, “We are happy he is here.”
In his new role, Hopkins will supervise library facilities, circulati
on operations, patron services and student workers during the evening and weekend hours. He will also manage, identify and report on safety and facility issues, as well as coordinate activities related to searching for overdue and lost library materials.
