It’s National Library Week and we’re highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. The theme for this year is “Find your place at the library.” It was chosen some time ago, before any of us could imagine the emergence of a global pandemic that would force most libraries to temporarily close their physical spaces.
Part of our programming this week to celebrate National Library Week, will be a special storytelling just for you!
Donna Washington, a highly animated performer, has been entertaining, educating and inspiring audiences with her vocal pyrotechnics, elastic face and deep characterizations that bring folklore, literary tales and personal narratives to life for more than 30 years.
She has even been called a “Walking Disney Movie” and told she was “better than television.”
Join us as we celebrate National Library Week with this riveting program as we #stayhome and are #safetogether. Washington’s stories will be available on demand for a limited time until May 8, 2020.
