University Libraries welcomed Anne Symonds in September as Reference Services Assistant in the Research, Outreach and Instruction department. In her new role, Symonds will staff the reference desk, answer questions and help patrons with research. Other duties include mentoring reference interns, providing instructional support and working on special projects.
Symonds began her library career in Jackson Library when she was a student at UNC Greensboro. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Symonds received her Master of Science in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Prior to joining University Libraries, Symonds worked as a media specialist at Guilford County Schools and James River Day School and as Cataloger at Randolph Macon Woman’s College.
