Courtney was nominated for the award by Christine Fischer, Head of Technical Services, for her work with Open Electronic Resources (OERs)—a University Libraries’ initiative to keep textbooks affordable for UNCG students.
“I am excited and enthusiastic to assist with the e-textbook project,” said Courtney. “I’m happy to help faculty, staff and students receive the resources they need to succeed.”
From identifying titles in the collection that already existed as e-books to notifying faculty and instructors about the resources available to them, Courtney’s positive attitude and strong work ethic proved successful for many academic departments across the UNCG campus.
Courtney also created a master textbook list for Interlibrary Loan staff to better serve patrons. When needed research materials are unavailable at UNCG, Interlibrary Loan makes it possible for researchers to obtain books and electronic copies of articles from libraries worldwide.
