Bean the Therapy Dog |
Back by popular demand, Bean, the therapy dog, will return to UNCG’s Harold Schiffman Music Library for a study break on Wednesday, November 29 from 3 – 4:45 pm.
While therapy pets help students relieve the stress of preparing for final exams, they also benefit from the experience. Therapy pets are exposed to a variety of situations as part of their training, and the study break with students gives them a chance to work in a different type of environment. Studies show that petting an animal can lower blood pressure, decrease heart rate, reduce stress and ease tension.
The Harold Schiffman Music Libary hopes these types of events will continue to foster communicative relationships between students and librarians. While University Libraries support students intellectually, they also want to offer students opportunities to decompress and remind them that librarians are friendly, accessible and approachable.
And remember, walk-ins are welcome!
