
Join the University Libraries in partnership with the UNCG Alumni & Friends Book Club on Thursday, October 13, 7:00PM, for a discussion with author Dr. Armondo Collins, a former UNCG faculty member, on his satirical novel “The Bruz.” Set at a small, Southern HBCU, “The Bruz” examines the fallout of a hazing incident through the eyes of fraternity advisor Aiden “Fierce” Chance.
Dr. Armondo Collins has a long history with UNCG. In addition to earning a PhD in English Rhetoric and Composition at UNCG in 2018, he held various roles with the Digital Media Commons in Jackson Library and served as an adjunct and visiting assistant professor in the university’s African American and African Diaspora Studies program from 2015-22.
His research and teaching emphasize cultural and digital rhetorics within African American and African Diaspora studies. He is currently an Assistant Professor of African American Literature, Thought, and Cultural Studies at California Polytechnic in Pomona, CA.
