The kick-off event with award-winning author Amor Towles on May 19, for the 2022 Greensboro Bound Literary Festival was a huge success for the University Libraries thanks to the many wonderful volunteers, faculty, staff and students that helped us reach our goal. Collaborating collectively for a cause like this makes all the difference and allows the University Libraries to expand our reach in the Greater Greensboro community.
This year, the University Libraries had the pleasure of partnering with Greensboro Bound to host “An Evening with Amor Towles” as both an in-person and virtual event that served more than 400 guests, on-site, at UNC Greensboro and nearly 200 guests, virtually, via Zoom. Towles discussed his newest book, “The Lincoln Highway,” with guests.
Partnerships such as this one help position the University Libraries to build community, create conversation and foster literary appreciation among our supporters. The University Libraries is grateful for the opportunity to serve our campus and community. While past author events have been recorded for viewing at a later date, this one was not due to a contractual agreement with the author.
The University Libraries would like to send a special thanks to the Greensboro Bound Literary Festival for its continued partnership, Amor Towles and UNCG Assistant Professor of Creative Writing Xhenet Aliu, who served as moderator for the event. We could not have done this without you.
