The University Libraries has recently partnered with Weatherspoon Art Museum to help showcase an exhibit, “Seven Masters: 20th-Century Japanese Woodblock Prints” on display at Weatherspoon Art Museum from September 10 to December 4.
Each of these works of art is a woodblock print, made with ink and color on paper. While these pieces are created the same way, there are distinct differences. Each one of these pieces is beautifully created and wonderful examples from their times. To learn more about the exhibit, visit our resource site, located at go.uncg.edu/seven-masters. The website was created by Visual Art and Humanities Librarian and Assistant Professor Maggie Murphy and details the sources available in the University Libraries to help support the exhibit.
“Seven Masters: 20th-Century Japanese Woodblock Prints” was organized by the Minneapolis Institute of Art and is toured by International Arts & Artists, Washington, DC. Its presentation at the Weatherspoon Art Museum was facilitated by Curator of Collections Elaine D. Gustafson.
