One of the ways we can all work towards a more equitable future is to educate ourselves on how that future is built. Ibram X. Kendi’s “How to Be an Antiracist” provides one part of that roadmap, and we can’t wait to begin discussing it with you. Here is an excerpt from the author’s website outlining the book:
“Ibram X. Kendi’s concept of antiracism reenergizes and reshapes the conversation about racial justice in America — but even more fundamentally, points us toward liberating new ways of thinking about ourselves and each other. Instead of working with the policies and system we have in place, Kendi asks us to think about what an antiracist society might look like, and how we can play an active role in building it.”
As we kick off our reading of the book, please take this opportunity to answer our pre-reading question: What do you think is the most probable reason for people failing to be overtly antiracist?
